It was our weekly pasta night last night.
But first
I had another of those wacky, weird and wonderful. Wacky and weird because Wednesdays are kinda "my" days. The Husband does the chores in Robertson and is gone for between three and four hours. It sounds awful, but I relish that time: it get my head down and work. Without interruption. Before he heads off, there are lists to do, and things to remember. It's also duck egg delivery day and as luck would have it, my market friend, J delivered spices and other purchases she'd done on my behalf when she'd had a trip to another town.
As we were saying our farewell, a cherry picker stopped at the lamp post at the corner and men started working.
It must be the Christmas lights!

We got back into the house and we had no electricity. The Husband phoned the municipality:
Oh, you're in McGregor, oh, and on that corner?
You won't have power until 4pm.
REALLY?
No. You were notified.

Red-faced apologies (the person to whom he was talking had printed the notices) did not help. I had a deadline. I happened to be WhatsApp-ing (what's with these new verbs? That's another story...) and she said:
Come and work at my house
So I did and, at the same time, we sorted some bits for the Christmas market and I was able to do some real work, not least of which was a meeting with a new client.
I returned to my black office, laptop charged, knowing I had some offline work to do, and hoping that the workman I'd asked, was right when he said the power would be back on by 3pm.
IT WAS!
So, I happily set to work and to play catch-up before my next appointment: a very happy in-person voice chat with long-time, now not-so-active Hivean, .
Although I'd started supper before our convo, I was late in getting it together - finally.
Courgettes, sweet red peppers and a chunky basil pesto stirred through the pasta. The salad of garden lettuce included brinjals and marinated green beans.
With apologies to Shakespeare, it definitely was a case of all's well that ends well.
Post script: I am trying to participate in 's November #HiveBloPoMo. I emphasise trying because the last two months have been exactly that - trying. There have been times that I've just been too exhausted and uninspired to post, let alone write something profound. That shouldn't stop you - or anyone. Read about how to participate here.
I've made it to day 24!
Until next time, be well

If this post might seem familiar, it's because I'm doing two things:
- re-vamping old recipes. As I do this, I am adding them in a file format that you can download and print. If you download recipes, buy me a coffee. Or better yet, a glass of wine....?
- and "re-capturing" nearly two years' worth of posts.
- From Wordpress, I use the Exxp Wordpress plugin. If this rocks your socks, click here or on on the image below to sign up.
