As part of the #HiveBloPoMo (by @TraciYork) ;I'm blogging about a place I've visited during my travels! These blogs will be on Thursday... Also because it's a throwback 😃.
This time we're revisiting Amsterdam, The Netherlands!
So to be quite honest my history with Amsterdam goes back a while.. My whole life actually as I was born there 😂.
When I returned to the Netherlands to study Amsterdam was typically a place where lots of family and friends lived.
When I had the opportunity to get off campus it was a premium destination! (Also because of the parties 😃).
Now the typical pictures show the inner city. This historic canals and the houses that form this beautiful maze.
You can practically walk around for hours in the inner city and chances are (especially on the weekend) you would find people awake.
It's also the place where all of the major Dutch holidays are celebrated. King's Day is one of those popular days.
And even though the busy shopping streets, the constant flow of tourists and the many bars and clubs has some appeal, I personally like the quite streets next to a canal where one can take pictures 😃.
On the other hand Amsterdam is much more that just the inner city, the neighborhood on the outside all have slightly different vibes. Some of them are quiet, some of them are busy and loud, some of them have these serene parks... it really depends on the neighborhood.
And that's my advice if you travel, if you like busy go for the typical tourist route. If you are lucky enough the have family or friends, chill outside the city too...
Thanks for taking this trip down memory lane! Tell me more about your Amsterdam experience in the comments below!
Tot ziens (See ya in Dutch),
