Greetings and thanks for stopping by!
So I've been on a mission of self improvement for years now, not always as consciously as I am now, but it's always been a thing...
Now at some point in this, let's call it, "journey" you're forced to look at yourself in the mirror. Not only are you supposed to see what's potentially holding you back but also, and this is a challenge, admit to yourself that it IS a problem.
That last part is a challenge. I mean anyone can read a list of potential issues but, you... You have to overcome that denial of it being that big of a problem before you can go ahead and change it.
And to think we haven't even gotten to the part of actually changing it 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️.
I'm at a point where I've listed what I would call my 'bad habits' with the goal on doing something about it.
With some of these I've tried to change them and failed many times and I'm still working on it.
My number one is...
- Going to bed late...
I've been a night person seemingly all my life 😃😃😃
I'm not completely convinced that this is a bad habit, I've read many articles about people having different natural rhythms. And that some people just function better and have these natural highs at night (I am people 🙋🏾♂️).
That being said the reason I want to change this is two fold. One the one hand there is thin line between natural high / productivity at night AND pushing it to far and ending up going to bed a 8 am.
The latter results in a total drop in productivity the next day (for me at least). The truth is if don't check my rhythm actively I end up getting to that unproductive 8am /10 am (or even skipping sleep all together) stage.
The second reason to change it is curiosity. I genuinely want to see what it's like if I go to be early and wake up early. Am I suddenly going to get better sleep? More productivity? Happiness and sunshine??? This is what I want to find out.
I've changed my rhythm many times but I haven't been in this early bedtime and early morning stage for long without having to fight my natural inclination to stay up late!
So what's your number one bad habit? How have you dealt with it so far?
Let me know in the comments!
And lastly I'm leaving you with this sunrise shot which was direct result of me skipping sleep and deciding to randomly take pictures at 6 am 😃
Cheers!
