The first thing that comes to mind when I hear the word ‘inspiration’ is my parents. Notwithstanding, I believe that different things or factors inspire different people.
However, the defining factor is that inspiration is something or someone that propels you to do things a certain way, and gives you an idea about what to do. It's what motivates you to do better, be better.
Several factors inspire me but the number one on the list is my parents. They are why I want to make something of myself. They are my ‘reasons for’ and my ‘reasons why’. It takes strong and selfless parents to raise, educate and nurture a self-willed person like me.
I have grown to see my parents make sacrifices upon sacrifices on my behalf while forgoing their own needs, especially my mum. All of these things inspire me to keep pushing and reaching for more.

As earlier stated, different people draw inspiration from varying factors. In this article, I'm going to share a few of mine. However, the big question is ‘what inspires you? Please, feel free to tell me about what you draw inspiration from in the comments.
- Ambition
Ambition simply describes the desire or drive to aim and achieve something. Not to blow my own trumpets, but I know I am quite ambitious myself. In fact, I am drawn to ambitious people. It's almost like there's a natural human magnet that draws me to them. Iron sharpeneth iron after all.
Even when I read about ambitious people who went on to accomplish a great deal, something stirs up in me. Every time I want to throw in the towel, these people serve as great reminders to keep trying.
2.Friends
Friends either make you or mar you. Whether you agree or not the company you keep matters. I'm lucky to be surrounded by friends who motivate me to be better, friends who won't let me settle for less. Take for instance brought me here in the first place. He keeps tabs on me and reaches out when I do not make posts here as often as I should.

is just one of the few friends who inspire me to do more for myself. I do not have a lot of friends, but the few I have are amazing people. My friends are goal-getters, hard workers, so you see, I am not permitted to be any less. Do your friends inspire you?
3.Difficulties
Life can get really difficult sometimes. I do not think anybody has it easy or smooth 24/7/365. Also, not everyone can draw inspiration from challenges and that's completely understandable. While some would rather give up and maybe change their paths, others would rather strive till they get it right. Different strokes for different folks right?
Personally, I used to describe myself as a 'coconut head', challenges tickled my fancy. Lately, that has changed, I find myself running away from the smallest challenges. Writing this reminds me of how dogged I used to be. I do not know where that me went, but I look forward to having her back
Change is constant, and so are challenges and obstacles. If you keep doing things the same way, expect the same results. My favorite thing about challenges is that with new challenges come new ideas. Being pushed out of my comfort zone inspires me to do better, hopefully, it inspires you too.
4.Past
For some people, the past is a dreadful place they run away from because of mistakes made, for others, it serves as a lesson to draw strength and knowledge from.
We all have something we wish we could have done better, things we look back on, and regret. However, if we look at it in the right context, it can serve as a source of inspiration. So, where exactly do you fall?
5.Faith
Forgive me if this sounds all too religious. My religion teaches me to have faith, and believe in things that aren't, as if they were, in the hopes that they will come to reality.

No matter how difficult it gets, I draw inspiration from my faith. I trust that life comes in phases, and no bad situation will last forever. I cannot begin to tell you how much this has paved the way for me.
