In this follow up from my previous Hive Coinbase Challenge post I said that we were going to start at the first section of the Coinbase Digital Asset Framework including mission, values, and open financial system.
Step 1 Use The Coinbase Asset Framework as a Lens to View the Hive Blockchain
I am sure that the Coinbase Listing Application will require us to answer all of these questions, based on the sections of their asset framework.
This post is specifically for section 1 of the framework that discusses the Mission & Values of Coinbase. So, in order to write out that section of the proposal for Hive we need to look at what they say about their mission & values.
If you click on the link to the framework you will see that they list their mission as
Open Financial System
Open financial system is defined as being available to everyone and not controlled by a single entity.
and their values are
- Innovation or Efficiency Gains
- Economic Freedom
- Equality of Opportunity
- Decentralization
Step 2 Define Hive's Mission and Values using the Framework
Making this a Hive specific section of the proposal will be important. Here is an adapted set of questions from the framework, use it to think about our blockchain.
- What is the mission of Hive?
- How does this technology solve a problem or address a market need?
How easy is it for people to participate in the economy? Do individuals control their own wealth & property? - Is the technology accessible across internet and devices?
- Is the network public, decentralized, and can implement trustless consensus?
Step 3 Take Some Action
So you can reply below with your responses to these questions or you can add comments to this Hive Coinbase Challenge Google Doc
