I woke up early and revigorated, had a quick shower and went to the nearest supermarket to buy breakfast. It was time for a 25min walk to the first venue.
Conference Day 1 at Gallery Meลกtroviฤ
Gorgeous place. It's like a hybrid between a museum and a temple. So neat and calm. Most Hiveians were already there went I arrived... just in time for a coffee. asked me to seat in the front row and I was like "... ๐...ok sure!"
and
opened the conference with some welcome words, logistics informations and thanking the sponsors and those who willingly bought an overpriced ticket as a contribution. I was one of those and thought that me being in the first row could have something to do with it, until I noticed the others in the same situation were randomly seated. It didn't took long for
to go on stage and announce there was a award for those attending HiveFest in person for the fifth time. THAT WAS THE REASON ๐
Talks
But we were there mostly for the talks and it was worth it! As usual in HiveFests, the presentations were diversified and jumping between different topics. That is perfect imo because I'm often trying to understand what's happening all across the Hive ecosystem. Some Hiveians show new projects, others bring updates, some talk about uber-hyper-geek-stuff, others about everyday issues. All interesting, all inspiring in one way or another. What previous HiveFests taught me is that I feel the urge to immediately find out more about certain projects, and will look into others later on, out of curiosity. But in the end, they all worth the time and study.
Gala Dinner at Restaurant Gusar
Our careful host, , got us a bus to go to the restaurant. Good start! It was not far but after a full day of presentations and an hour or so of relaxing in the grass and chatting, the ride felt good ๐
The restaurant is beautifully located, has a balcony with an astonishing view and is brilliantly decorated. Everybody was taking photos of the landscape or the tables. Or selfies... we are also good at that ๐
But it's a restaurant right? The most important is the food! Ok, regarding the food, this was easily the best gala dinner of every HiveFest I attended (I missed the closing dinner in Lisbon).
And then there was the music! Let's face it... none of those Hiveians is an amateur in the arts of singing and playing. And composing! They are all very very good.
I thought about staying a bit longer and maybe explore the Split night life but I really wanted to be ready and energized for the next day so I went home. (As the well-behaved boys do!)
