We'll get back very soon this month about 2.5 colonization: it has a game build we will continue right after this article! but today we want to speak about inventions, drachians, factions and content to support your challenges.
Colonization Challenges have been masterfully played in EXODE: an addition to EXODE gameplay and collection utility and value, allowing anywhere from 10 to over 10 000 cards to be played and find usage. Players are still looking for more ways to progress!
Projects are coming to do exactly that, and more.
Season 2 will introduce a new content: STRATEGIC PROJECTS. They allow to use your resources to build up lasting advantages and perfect them season after season.
We want projects to be a procedural loot of inventions, with players amazed at what they get in their variants! This builds up on our unique approach on player collections. And all your strategic resources always had them in mind!
And to add original ideas to it, we also designed projects to be fully tradable, so by taking them now you can start not only building advantages for yourself, but also start adding to their value.
They are supported by a pack to spawn unique inventions.
Every pack will invent its original projects from base structure templates, and you can then decide to build this project with your hard-earned challenge resources, or keep your resources for next inventions from the same pack.
And if you get these packs before Season 2 begins (which is to be at some point after January 10th), you'll also benefit from this early access right away to Strategic Projects in Season 2: and start using and building them!
We also added a promotion, to help getting started, as we know we make a lot of content!
Project Drops
Project Drops - Headquarters is a directly usable pack which will spawn its first inventions right before Season 2 will begin, in less than two weeks!
Headquarters focuses on buildings supporting and leading individual Factions, allowing you to construct Military Headquarters, Drachian Barracks, Scientific Laboratories and other faction-specific contents and wings.
This will give bonuses to faction-related cards and their Challenge Power and/or inspire the faction and some of their signature traits, and also give an extra star slot or yellow star budget.
We have many main templates planned and variants: and the drop table will even increase once beta boosters are unlocked!
The new pack gives access to the Strategic Projects feature during Season 2, with three projects invented per pack during interseason right before it begins.
Because of the variants procedural system, there is no real upper limit to the ones you want to have, especially if you want to trade some of them away later.
A new creation of EXODE is that Inventions are tied to the pack that invented them. This means that if you trade out a pack, you sell the related projects, built or upgraded with the pack.
EXODE tries to make everything its own value and utility niche and this is, we think, a good strategy to support value in WEB3 games. This gives them unique sale value and at the same time, of course reduces the will to trade them away, which supports their value. Once you have many packs and built secondary structures, you may feel covered enough to do so since you built enough redundancies or secondary bonuses.
We made the pack to ensure it "gets interesting with one and more interesting with more", with synergy planned if you build toward the same faction.
Thanks to a system of project variants and random invention, we also want players to share what they got and have fun!
The pack unlocks an entire line of projects and there is no other way to access them than with Headquarters.
Interseason
Projects are spawned from your packs just before a new season begins.
The inventions are then made. It is then up to you to decide or not to spend the resources to build them. This allows you to make your decision at any moment during the season (or later seasons) to construct their proposed building, if you have the resources!
Season 1 runs for about a week more than planned, and we want an interseason to allow players to rest, which puts S2 to begin in less than two weeks.
Minting Projects
You can expect more options during Season 3, as we plan to allow to mint more projects by spending EXOCREDITS, and benefit from you owning uniquely related Headquarters in this too.
An Infirmary random invention, for instance, will also benefit from having a Medical Wing built in your civilian, scientific or military headquarters from the packs above.
