I’ve been building a blockchain mining game inspired by Bitcoin mining for a few months now, and I think it’s at the point where I need real people testing it instead of just me doing everything alone.
So this post is basically me asking if anyone here wants to try it and give honest feedback.
The game is called Mining Sim for now.
All names in the game, including the token names, are still working titles.
One important thing about it is that it’s being built as an L2, so this test is not only about whether the game itself feels good to play, but also about how the consensus side behaves when more people start using it.
I already have multiple accounts in the test, but I can only do so much alone.
This is still an early test, so I want to be clear about that upfront.
The current UI is very much MVP. You can do what you need to do in it, but it is not how the game is supposed to look at launch. Right now it exists to make testing possible, not to look polished.
What is already there though is the actual game logic and flow behind it.
At this point:
- solo mining is in
- hash races are in
- anomalies are in
- most player actions that do not depend on live pool integration are in
- pools have already been built and tested against a simulated chain, but are not live on the real chain yet
Another thing worth mentioning is that players are signing what they do as real transactions. The backend watches the chain, sees those actions, and updates the game state from that. The backend itself does not perform real transactions for players.
Also, this test is not using real tokens or NFTs yet. So this is about testing the game systems, flow, behavior, and chain interaction, not about launching the final asset side of things.
Also worth mentioning: this test phase will probably include around 2 resets. One will likely be to bring in pools properly, and another will be to test faster progression by speeding up the L2 from 1-minute blocks to something closer to Hive speed.
That means the game would move much faster for a while, which should let us test unlock pacing and maybe even reach things like a halving sooner.
So if you join now, current progress should be seen as temporary.
What I mainly want from this test is:
- to see how the game feels when other people use it
- to find what is confusing
- to see where balance feels off
- to test how the consensus side behaves with more real users
- and of course to find what breaks
So if you like economy games, blockchain games, testing early projects, or just trying to break things, I’d appreciate the help.

If you do try it, I’d really prefer honest feedback over polite feedback. If something feels unclear, annoying, slow, unbalanced, or just bad, that’s useful for me to know.
I’m not trying to sell this as a polished launch or pretend everything is finished. I know it’s not. This is a real test build, and I’d rather be straightforward about that.
If anyone wants to help test it, or knows someone on Hive who likes this kind of thing, feel free to comment, tag them, or join the Discord.
It would really help.
