Crabapple blossom
On Friday I had both helpers. My general helper was going to tackle a large laundry list of chores and my helper friend and I were going to tackle the office windows. There are 11 windows in the office, but we could only do 7 due to the seedling set-up.
I got a call halfway through the windows saying I’d been approved for more hours from the window person. Wish I’d known that before I started the office…
What’s left are the bedroom 2, the living room 6, 2 in the upstairs bathroom, and the 4 in the office. I think I will plan to take down the seedling set-up and get the screens and screen door done along with the 1 window we couldn’t do. Then all the windows will be done and I can move on.
It took us 3 hours to do the 7 windows, finishing just before he left.
While we were doing that my general helper ran the vacuum around, finished restoring order to 2 of the windows from Wednesday, put the screen into the bathroom window, and then! She installed the grilles in the last 2 windows! It’s been years that I’ve looked out plain windows and it seems so odd to look out the 4 without grilles and see grilles.
She also went out and got all the guards off the little trees. She did a few more chores and then we got ready to take the car to be inspected. But this is where we didn’t win. It was a minimum 2 hour wait and neither of us wanted to do that. So we did an errand and came home. I have to figure out getting it there on Monday at 8AM.
In the Little Trees row, #1 North Star cherry has many buds this year. Maybe I will get more than one cherry as I did last year.
The #3 Serviceberry has finally taken off. It’s nearly double the size of last year.
It has several good size bunches of flowers.
At the other end of the row the Juneberry has tons of buds. Maybe this year I’ll manage to get some berries before the birds…
In the New South garden the tulips were wide open in the bright sun. These were ones I’d saved from the construction and I didn’t know what colors they were. I wish I had a few more red at the bottom end.
And in the South garden that little wallflower is flowering its heart out. I’ve started more of them and they are up and doing well.
I was mighty wiped out by the time we finished at noon. I dozed on the couch for a while. Then I had to stay up because the library was dropping off books at 6PM and my brother would be home from work late. He’s leaving early Saturday morning on a trip so I wanted to touch base with him before he left.
Saturday is probably going to be a quiet day. I’ve been invited to see Tom’s wife’s “Karen” production again, but I will have to see how I am doing.
