It often starts as “just jokes.” A comment here, a laugh there. An older sibling making fun of the younger one — the way they act, speak, or express themselves. At first, everyone dismisses it: “That’s normal between siblings. But what happens when those jokes are constant?. When they target something as personal as sexual orientation?. What looks like “harmless teasing” can slowly turn into emotional damage, confusion, and silence.
We are taught how to defend ourselves from the outside world…
but no one teaches us what to do when the attack comes from inside our own home.
