A lively little character.
This is a miniature Italian Greyhound with a long history of accompanying Kings and royalty. I spotted him at a fleamarket where his owner was buying some food. An amazing coincidence, dogs and fleamarkets.
But the fleamarket name was just to state that one could find anything for sale at a fleamarket.
Any case, come and have a look at this little guy.
Wait! He has spotted something and was trying to rip out of his leash.
Ah! There it was, a dog in apache war horse colors and I have no idea what kind of dog it was.
Playful? Yeah the little guy thought that it was a mate to play with.
Some more information on this lovely little dog for you:
Small dogs of sighthound type have long been popular with nobility and royalty. Among those believed to have kept them are Frederick II, Duke of Swabia; members of the D'Este, Medici and Visconti families; the French kings Louis XI, Charles VIII, Charles IX, Louis XIII and Louis XIV; Frederick the Great of Prussia; Anne of Denmark; Catherine the Great and Queen Victoria. Dogs of this type have often been represented in paintings, notably by Giotto, Sassetta and Tiepolo.
