Did. Pratininapada was son or peo. The main grandson resides in Punjas. An earlier species. This opal was known as Putuni for its high yield of sugarcane. Punjnagar was the capital of Jaya. The city was built around the fourth century BC. The present name of Pangar is Mahasthangarh. Mahasthangarh is located in Shibganj upazila of Bogra district. The fall was a city of millions. The ruins of this city have been discovered in the village of Bangarh in the South Dinajpur district of the Indian state of West Bengal. Pundranagara was the provincial capital of the Maurice and Gupta dynasties. There is a Buddhist pillar built by Emperor Ashek known as 'Behular Basar Ghar'. A Brahmi script has been found at Mahasthangarh. This is the most relevant inscription of Bengal. It is said that Hazrat Shah Sultan Mahmud Balkhi (r.h.) who had more spiritual power than Fakir fought with Parashuram in this region (1905-20 AD). Parashuram was defeated and killed in the battle. Shah Sultan Balkhi (Rah.) Hoisted the flag of Islam in the region. Places of interest in Mahasthangarh are Shah Mazar Balpir Mazar, Parashuram's Palace, Khedar Pathar Vita, Bairagir Vita, Gavinda Vita, Lakshindar's Medh etc.
On the east side of the average is the bed of Shiladevi on the banks of the river Karateya. The site was first discovered in 1898 by Franpis Buchanan Hamilton.

In 179, Alexander Cunningham identified the site as an ancient relic. In 2016, Mahanaganj was declared as the SAARC Cultural Capital.
