Kylen Pollard, 52 year old native of Portland, Maine.
Died this week in a tragic fishing accident.
All we know about the accident so far is that there was somewhat of a "Perfect Storm" and all we have been able to find is bits of debris from their boat, rather than focusing on the circumstances surrounding Kylen's death, the Hive-Punk family would instead, like to focus on the highlights of "their" life.
On the surface, and to everybody in town.. Kylen was just a simple fisherman, working the water and fishing for whatever was in season.. but that was only part of who Kylen was.
After long excursions fishing out in the ocean, all Kylen wanted to be was a punk! (a princess punk to be exact).
I can not tell you where "they" got the idea of wanting to be a princess, and wear eye shadow. but I can tell you "they" didn't give a shit about your opinion, hence the green eyeshadow.
Kylen was born in 1969 on may 1st, an iconic day for anti establishment protest, and the year that the largest anti-war protest occurred: rebuking the vietnam war.
You could say Kylen was born in an age of conflict and turmoil.
"They" were also born in a great age of tranformation in music.
Kylen never married, never had kids, and his only love in life was fishing and punk music.
he would fish, in order to pay for his 32 packs of Pabst Blue ribbon (until the company was bought by a russian corporation.. then he started drinking 6ers of local micro brews.) and for his travel expenses to and from cities where shows were happening, wither they were in formal venues with standard ticketing in grungy back alley rooms (he preferred the latter) he just loved being acccepted for who he was at these gatherings of Punks.
There's not much to say about Kylen other than that he was a good and diligent worker who (although he might have been hungover on occasion) never missed a shift and sure as shit, never missed a good show! RIP Punk-Princess of Portland, Maine.
