These companies are the gatekeepers to our devices. People do want some reassurance that their apps are checked, but it can mean censorship too. I hear that Google are trying to block alternative ways to install apps. This is part of why I run Linux on my PC, but there are less viable options for that on phones and they are not for the masses. If we can get Hive to a wider audience then they may see that it offers more freedom.
