Sharing with you my ZGMF-X56S Impulse Gundam and its 3 types variants. All the model kits are in HG 1/144 scale.
Some detail about this unit. The Impulse Gundam is a mobile suit featured in animated television series Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny. It was piloted by Shinn Asuka, and later by Lunamaria Hawke after Shinn acquired his new ZGMG-X42S Destiny Gundam.
The Impulse is a prototype general purpose combat mobile suit developed by ZAFT military. The unit is not designed for combat in a specific environment, instead it is designed to adapt to different combat situations by using back-mounted optional equipment packs known as Silhouette packs. With equiped with these Silhouette packs, the Impulse can perform various roles based on combat situations needed. And, these packs can be exchanged or switched in mid-battle as they are transported by an automated unit, the Silhouette Flyer.
The Impulse Gundam is also unique due to the fact that it is made up of three different modules, with the main module being the small transformable fighter plane, the YFX-M56S Core Splendor. The Core Splendor not only serves as the cockpit of the suit, but can also fly and fight on its own. The other modules are Leg Flyer and Chest Flyer. If one of the latter two mudules is damaged or destroyed, they can be easily replaced and this help the suit in combat for longer time. The three modules will combine in mid-air after launch and then the Impulse Gundam will recieve the Silhouette pack from Silhouette Flyer.
Weapon wise, the Impulse Gundam is only armed with two anti-armor knives, a pair of CIWS guns, a beam riffle and an expendable shield for defense. The unit also equiped with a new form of phase shift armor known as Variable Phase Shift Armor, and is powered by a battery that could be rechared during battle using the Deuterion Beam Energy Transfer System. The Variable Phase Shift Armor will change color depending on the Silhouette pack used by the suit.
ZGMF-X56S/α Force Impulse Gundam
By equiped the Impulse Gundam with α Force Silhouette pack forming the ZGMF-X56S/α Force Impulse Gundam. The Force Impulse Gundam is a general purpose mobile suit, but it has higher mobility and speed due to the presence of high output thrusters in the Force Silhouette pack. This pack also grants the unit atmospheric flight capabilities, and adds a pair of beam sabers to the standard Impulse armaments. The Force Impulse retains the same VPS colors as the original Impulse and is the most commonly used form due to its high versatility during combat.
ZGMF-X56S/β Sword Impulse Gundam
By equiped the β Sword Silhouette pack to the Impulse Gundam, it forms the ZGMF-X56S/β Sword Impulse Gundam, which serves as a close combat mobile suit. The Sword Silhouette pack adds two large anti-ship laser swords that can be combined into a larger double bladed sword, and a pair of beam boomerangs to the standard Impulse armaments. Thanks to the presence of beam riffle, the unit still can engage with range combat if required. The suit's VPS colors change to red, black and white, which is different from that of the normal Impulse Gundam.
ZGMF-X56S/γ Blast Impulse Gundam
When equiped with γ Blast Silhouette pack, it forms ZGMF-X56S/γ Blast Impulse Gundam. The Blast Impulse is designed for long range heavy assault and bombardment missions. As such, the Blast Silhouette pack is equiped with heavy assault weapons such as a pair of beam cannons, a pair of railcannons and a pair of missiles launchers. The pack is also store a pair of beam javelin for close range combat. It also has additional thrusters that enable the Blast Impulse to hover over earth surfaces such as water and improves its overall mobility. As the Blast Impulse retains all of the Impulse's standard armaments, it can uses a beam riffle and shield for range combat and defense respectively. The suit's VPS colors change to black, green, white and blue when equiped with this pack.

The Impulse Gundam can be formidable unit together with skillful pilot, due to it's excellent performance in battle and great adaptation in any combat environment. Therefore, I am really amazed with this Gundam after watching the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny.
