Don't you dare allow that man to lose the race! Everyone slow down and let him pass. He has been through hard times, that poor man. We must allow him to win!
After the race, the man finds out that he wasn't allowed to actually compete. He throws his trophy over the roof. It's meaningless to him now.
We take pride in the achievements that we struggle to earn. When we know that we've succeeded in our efforts against the greatest adversity.
It wouldn't bother me so much if we allowed "The Anti-Gun Kids" to stand up to criticism. Instead, we pat them on the head and say "How dare you question anything these poor kids say! They've been through so much, and they're just kids! You should believe and support everything to be nice, even if they're not correct!" If we want to see how much intellectual integrity they have, they should go on Adam vs. The Man, Stefan Molyneux, or even Gavin McInnes or Tucker Carlson...talk to ANYONE that disagrees with them!
Of course they feel tough and all-knowing because they've never debated with someone who disagrees with them. Let them see why they have opposition. We don't have to be MEAN to them. Just put their stances up to the rigors of debate. They're like protected amateur boxers who have faced nothing but local kids in the gym, and their trainers won't even let them go against anyone that's not hand-picked from their safety bubble. Yes, they feel like the toughest kids on the block. Now let's put them against real competition, outside of their protected ecosystem of sycophants.
Sadly, I wager they will crumble beneath any pressure they face. You can already see that they do, which is why so many people are quick to say things like "How dare you mock what these kids went through" when questioned on the issue. Those who dare disagree with them publicly are called cruel bullies. Apparently their supporters don't want to give them the power to stand up for themselves. They're treated like babies, the biggest insult to kids who want to be like adults. If only someone would tell them. So far, I haven't heard them give any thoughtful answers to address the obvious arguments of those who oppose making guns illegal. It's as if they have no clue what their opposition is.
I'm sure that if this article was posted anywhere but Steemit, people would be calling ME a bully. If they want to be activists, then let's treat them the way we treat anyone who comes along and wants to change government.
Look at how much criticism Adam Kokesh faces amidst his Non-Presidential campaign from OTHER LIBERTARIANS! He's not being treated with kid gloves. People like Larken Rose and Stefan Molyneux are holding his feet to the fire in the harshest ways, digging into his beliefs and trying to knock every door down, because they care. And Adam jumps head-first into those fires. He wants to face the most steep competition and criticism of his ideas because he has conviction in them. People like Adam can handle that level of scrutiny.
Saying we're not allowed to question the ideas of someone because we should feel sorry for that person, or that person was in a building where people were shot, is just being condescending. People deserve better. I mean heck-if being near a shooting makes you an expert on gun laws then 50 Cent must be a space-age-genius of regulation. He actually WAS shot!
