Hexennacht Poem
A night to remember those who lost their lives,
To the hands of people who are ignorant and shame,
Blood in the streets they demand with pain,
A night to remember those who lost their lives,
To the hands of people who are ignorant and shame,
Blood in the streets they demand with pain,
Continuously teaching the deception they were subjected,
The repeating of injustice to both young and old,
Today I stand resolute in my mission,
Saying no more of your deceit and bigotry,
I remember all the murders those institutions have committed,
Under the cover of law and righteousness,
They say believe my way or burn in hell,
I want this hypocrisy to end,
I light this candle on Hexennacht,
The red stands for lives that were lost,
By the hands of people full of ignorance and fear,
This is a solemn occasion,
To pause and reflect on why we remember those who died,
From pseudo-science, witch hunts, and books full of lies.
