My day trip to the capital Santa Cruz de Tenerife , was totally unexpected.
My impression was of a small island town with some housing estaes and central office / government buildings.
How I was amazed at its cosmopolitan cultural vibing city life.
The centre reminded me of any capital city - tall buildings , with character , lots of people bustling in everyday activities , usual road traffics and even a modern metro system .
There were some relaxing , exquistivly laid out formal parks and squares with ornately designed buildings surrounding them.
The eating / socializing was truely a day to enjoy and perhaps somewhere to retire to.
