Hello, Steemit friends
Christmas can be loads of fun. Its a time to see the family you don't normally get to see, eat more than you normally allow yourself to eat, and indulge in general. But it can also be a stressful time of year, Christmas can be costly, hectic, and a bit overwhelming. Below are some helpful steps you can take to east Christmas season Stress.
Make a To-Do List
Its always helpful to organize the holiday tasks you will be taking on in a list. Trust me, the whole holiday season will feel far less daunting once you've broken it down into achievable tasks. Do this early in the season, really anytime after Halloween is fair game. You can put things like, "Take pictures for the family Christmas card", "Stock up on wrapping paper" and "Get tums for Dad, because he'll definitely start complaining about heartburn after Christmas dinner" on your list.
Do Some Fall Cleaning
There are several reasons you'll want to feel on top of your cleaning when the holidays roll around. First of all, you'll probably have family coming to town and you wont want to be scrambling at the last minute to deal with the pile of clothes you've been collecting in the corner of your living room. If you don't have family coming to town and are travelling yourself, think of a deep clean as a nice present to future you, returning bloated from your holiday travels. There's also the stuff, holidays mean presents and you'll want to have the shelf space ready to put them away.
Make a Budget
We all know the feeling of scrambling to do last minute Christmas shopping and seeing the bill climb higher than you were hopping. If you sit down now and make a list of what you are buying for who you will have an easier time browsing the internet or window shopping at your leisure to find the best presents and the best sales.
Start Shopping Now
If you start your holiday shopping now your wallet will thank you. spreading Christmas expenses out over a couple months is definitely easier than packing them in at the last minute, especially if you work for hourly wages and will also be taking time off over the holidays.
Most importantly - Have fun. Take a deep breath and enjoy the cookies. The holidays are a great time for relaxing, seeing the people you love, and celebrating with each other. Don't get to wrapped up in getting things "right" just take the time to enjoy yourself. Mine wont be a snowy Christmas but rather, golden snow off the Andaman Sea. :)
