On Monday morning I was up at 5:30AM and got started on my post. I had to stop around 7AM to start prepping for windows. I got the kitchen cleaned up, got out the back porch screens and went out and started emptying out the back porch.
Once everything was out of the windows there, I went to the bathroom and started emptying that window. Next was the clean room window. I sat down for a while then got up and washed up all the things from the bathroom.
And then I got the phone call just after 8AM, the window washer wasn’t coming at all this week. He was rescheduled for next week. Well, wasn’t that grand! I had the house all torn up, ready to do windows. I wasn’t leaving it like that for a week. Sigh… So I sat down and finished my post and then got started.
The plan had been, because it was a lovely day, to get as many of the outside windows done as we could. That meant the washer on a ladder and me inside. Well…
So I decided I would do the outsides and the insides by myself. So I got the ladder and carefully set it up at each window and got the outsides done by 10AM.
I got the stuff put away from the outside and sat down for a while. Then around 11AM I got started on the inside. I did the bathroom first as the sun was on it and things wouldn’t get better. Then the clean room window and I stopped for lunch and a rest.
I got a call from the Senior center that the van was coming early for the event, so I got right up and got a shower and got ready. I had time to put some of the stuff back into the bathroom window.
I had time when I got to the Senior center to chat with the presenter. She had prepared an excellent Powerpoint, but in was brought in through a browser and the Senior center’s internet leaves a bit to be desired. All her cool videos would not play, just sat buffering. She was so disappointed. But the still photos were cool too and she had a lot of interesting things she had seen from her kayak on the river.
Once I was back home, I sat down for a while then went out and got the insides of the back porch windows washed and put all the shelving back up and moved the plants back. I finished about 5PM.
So I spent the rest of the day on the couch watching ‘Leave It to Beaver’ until I had to pull shades at 8PM. My son would light the fires during the night when the temps dropped.
On Tuesday I need to clean up the kitchen and get seedlings watered or fed. When my helper friend arrives at 10:30AM we have to feed the seedlings in the cold frame. I’m hoping to take some of the ones in the house to the cold frame as they have gotten too big to be under lights.
It’s still to be 40’s at night for another 10 days so I hope they will be ok. I’m tired of the plastic on the cold frame and am debating taking it off now. We have lots of chores to get done and I’d like to think I could get out to gardens later. I have some that are in the shade on the north side of the house that could sure use cleaning out.
