When I got up around 6 AM on Wednesday it was snowing again. I got a few things done and got ready early to go to exercise class. It was Coffee Hour day, the last Wednesday of every month. I made hot cacao to bring.
Little birds in the azalea
Back home, I rested for most of the time until the Senior van picked me up for PT. I made it through that but was pretty exhausted. I had to sweep the steps and walks and mostly rested until I had to feed the birds, in addition to pulling shades and lighting fires.
I had help resting, of course. In the evening I watched more of The Good Life before bed around 8:30PM.
On Thursday I was up at 4:45AM and had help getting the shades up just after 7AM. Another one of the older shade’s spring broke, so now I have 2 to take to repair. I got the kitchen cleaned up, repaired the handle on the back storm door, fix a hand tool, put the laundry away, and put some orders in.
I had to go outside and found the snow coming off the Tonka garage like this.
It was to be a nice day, getting up into the 30’s and mostly sunny.
I got a shower and rested for a while before my #4 helper arrived at 1:30PM.
We set to work washing the last 8 shades from the second floor. Then she repaired them with the Duck tape while I set up to get the plant info filing done.
Once that was finished, I was finally caught up on last year’s paperwork for plants and gardens.
We put the shades not needing hand stitching back up. I have 3 I have to sit and sew up.
After that we got the brine heating for making corned beef on Friday. I had to get the roasters off the back porch so I can put up lights and shelving. I also needed the space to cool the brine. The pot went onto the porch to cool. My #4 helper managed to get both roasters back into the cubby even though the new one was much bigger.
After that, she brought up the boxes for putting away canning jars and we got part of that job done before she had to go. The handle fell off the back storm door when I came in from feeding the birds. I will have to repair that again. Sigh….
On Friday the senior van will pick me up as both neighbors who give me a ride are going to a funeral. When I get back I’ll have an hour and a half to get ready and rest before my #3 helper arrives at 12:30PM.
I have to get an order for groceries in so she can pick it up. She will vacuum the 1st floor and then we’ll be bringing up the equipment to set up plant shelves on the porch and in the roundtop window. That ought to keep us busy until she leaves late afternoon.
