On Friday night, I had a very bad night, only 4 hours sleep. I got up at 6:30AM and got my post up. My brother was up around 9AM and we went out and emptied the trash shed and did a dump run.
I sat down for a while afterwards and then finished the set up in the office, except I forgot to do the shelf shims. So the notes and shims are sitting on the chair.
My #1 intern got up around then and started on the trays, getting about half of them done. My general helper was coming out from Boston and early afternoon she showed up with my #2 intern and #3 intern. They left soon after and the next thing I knew my #1 intern and general helper were out working in the woodshed.
My #1 intern brings in the wood for wood stoves on Saturdays and when she went out to do it, they decided to try to finish cleaning out the woodshed.
They worked out there for a couple hours and nearly got it done. But it was pretty cold and really windy so they quit around supper time.
When I went to pull the shades around 7PM, it looked like a wildfire on Horse Mountain. But it was just the sunset.
My #1 intern made some supper while my general helper went to the co-op for snacks for watching the movie. She came home with ice cream and a candy bar.
I got the shades done and the fire started in the wood stove. I just laid the fire in the masonry heater as it was still really warm in the living room and there’d be 3 of us watching the movie.
My #1 intern hadn’t seen this movie so we watched it. I have one more Jane Austen movie, ‘Becoming Jane’ that we might watch on our Jane Austen kick.
We didn’t start it until late and it finished around 10PM. I had started the masonry heater midway through so just had to stoke the stoves and head to bed.
On Sunday we have a lot to do: clean up the kitchen, finish setting up 3 windows and make notes on it, wash the remaining trays, and start 16 trays of seedlings. I have to do all the notes on each plant and get the seeds sorted before they can plant. So a long busy day…
