So last night, my furnace would keep turning on and off. The blower continued to run, but it would not stay lit. I did some online research, and determined it to be the flame sensor. This sensor can become fowled up easily, and it is a cheap part, but a quick clean got us back to being warm in about 5 minutes.
First I opened up the access door, and located the part that required cleaning.
It was in a tight spot and had a Phillips head 1/4 inch nut holding it in. As to not disturb anything else in the area, I decided to use a open end wrench.
I put it all back together, and everything works great now. Dont call and pay a repair man hundreds of dollars for something so simple as this!
