I've been away for the day, picking up the wool I've been waiting for.
And it was so worth it.
I got to see the sun on the way to the farmer and his wife.
Lovely but icy roads since we got warmer weather the last few days. I didn't have to hurry so I had some coffee with me and could really enjoy the drive.
Some pictures of the sheep. Who has time to take pictures when you can pet them? They are so sweet.
I got to see some moose on the way home and lots of fresh tracks from when they've passed the road. It gets dark by 3:00 p.m. so it was already getting dark when I left the farmer. I don't mind driving during winter, I just don't like to do it in a hurry.
Five cardboard boxes filled with wonderful wool. It's a softer wool that I think is more suited for felting than the wool I got last year, but I can still use it for spinning too. I'm so looking forward to getting it washed so that I can start carding it! It smells a bit more sheep than I like, but I can gently wash it and still use it for all the things I want to make. I get really inspired just by looking at all that different colored wool. I have a rug in our living room that now smells like a sheep, I just had to see what was on the bottom of the boxes.
Do you think I can resist washing wool tomorrow?
Until next time, be well.
