While a 4-wheeler isn't a necessity on the homestead, it sure can come in handy if you are blessed enough to have one!
Whether it be running up to a neighbors house or checking your fencing, having a 4-wheeler gets you to point B and back to A much faster than you would by foot. This locomotive efficiency then frees up more of your time which allows you to accomplish more in your day. On a homestead, there is a never ending list of things to be done, so the more a perspiring homesteader can get done in a day the better.
How I came to own a 4-wheeler
A family that is family to my family, that and
are part of, had an extra 4-wheeler on their homestead. My children so badly wanted one that they talked about it excessively while we visited them last Christmas season. So they and their parents graciously allowed us to take one off their hands before we traveled back to the Ozarks. It's the one me and my boys are pictured on above. It's a Yamaha 325 trail boss.
My children were so excited to have a 4-wheeler of their own, since most families in our community have one.
Beyond the time saving efficiency and the utility of having one, 4-wheelers are just plain ol' fun! My children find great delight in riding around with me on our homestead. There's something liberating and exhilarating about feeling the rush of wind past your ears and the terrain beneath your machine pass by in a blur.
Yup, definitely not a necessity, but I wouldn't want to give mine up now that I have one. I do believe my s feel the same.
