When Luke turned 16 he really wanted to drive! ... and why not? This is a right of passage for young people. Getting a set of wheels is a huge step towards gaining your independence. We want this for our kids.
However, with Luke's special needs he could not drive a real car on the public roads, so we did the next best thing... a golf cart to drive on the farm.
At the age of 16 Luke was really good at driving that golf cart. He loved it. I wish I could find a picture right now of that time.
That golf cart served Luke really well for the last 5 years, until about a month ago when the batteries finally died.
It's a good thing that Luke's big brother Brody is home for a visit. He loves to repair things. Changing those batteries out would be right up his alley. We found a decent price on batteries at Costco, so we decided to get it done. Luke needs his wheels back!
You can see in that first picture that one of the first things Luke wanted to do was take Brody's girlfriend out for a ride. You better look out Brody! Luke is looking pretty fly with that flowing hair. Hehe.
It's good to have my kids helping each other out like that.
