Today was extremely uneventful, for which I am grateful. It's nice to have a bit of quiet once in a while. The puppies have been doing their usual crazy stunts, but aside from that, it's been mercifully serene. I did find something exciting in the woods today!
The trilliums are blooming! They always feel like magic. They show up for a few weeks a year. They start out white and turn a lovely pink/purple before they fade for the rest of the year.
The bleeding hearts are coming up too but they haven't bloomed yet. I'll get some pictures when they do.
In lieu of anything super exciting, I thought I would share some pictures from years ago, back when we were allowed to leave the house.
This is the beach at Manzanita, Oregon. Lovely, not so touristy spot.
This is at Waldo Lake, also in Oregon, but high up in the mountains. The whole family goes up there every summer if the mosquitoes aren't too bad. I haven't been up there in years, though. With dairy goats, there's very rarely a break. I do have a wonderful farm sitter, but she's got her own life now that she's grown up, and it's harder to make the schedules work. It's a good thing I love being at home so much!
One of the best things on Steemit has been the chance to see other people's experiences from all over the world, whether they're travelling or living in the farflung reaches of the globe. I haven't traveled much, although I always wanted to, so getting to experience it vicariously through others has been wonderful.
Here's the required baby animal photo of the day: Sweet Pea and her brother Samson when they still lived in the house.
Be well, everyone! Keep travelling and posting pictures!
