I was a bit.too lazy with the formworks and boy that.bit me in the arse
Hoped I would get away with it but nein!
My goodness that looks like miserable work with the grinder. That is a lot of material to remove, given the difficulty of removing it. I very much appreciate you providing this forthright demonstration of the necessity of forming rigorously and robustly to prevent having to perform this kind of remediation work. The formwork I have undertaken to date has been orders of magnitude lesser than that you have done building this house, and I presently don't have any intentions to dramatically increase the volume of the forms I employ. Even so, it is quite cautionary, as the impulse to be stingy with formworks is incessant.
Thanks!
Your cat was the building inspector. Lol
I erected many concrete columns, but we used steel shutter formworks.
We switched over from wood to steel shutters in the late 70s, as it was much better, and faster to work with. Also leaves a better finish on the concrete surfaces :)
Oh yes, I can see that you understand this very well. A thin layer of special shutter oil gets sprayed on the shutters. It leaves no marks on the concrete surfaces. The oil also makes it easier to strip the shutters after the concrete's drying periods.

Ahh...those view from the top..😍 i like the surrounding. Messing with such concrete pillars is not easy. The pain is there for sure, isn't there another way to cover up.
Plaster but don't want 3cm thick plaster on the wall better just do it right
Concrete is a pain in the hole. There is always someone worse off. I had to kango out 8 77ft x 7ft holes for 7 new beams in a building. The concrete was 200mm think. Took 2 weeks of solid nice. I feel your pain!!
Drilling a hole without concrete drill on water and hydraulics is probably a nightmare 😂
