On Friday a huge box of cat food was delivered. I managed to get it inside the door and it sat there for 2 days until I was up to emptying it. Of course, the job was not unsupervised.
I enjoy the birdfeeders at meal times, when I can sit and watch. We have the usual assortment: 4 types of woodpeckers, titmice, chickadees, juncos, lots of goldfinches, sparrows, mourning doves, and cardinals. I’ve only seen the blue jay once. Oh, and purple finches.
My back is not much improved and I had to stop the meds due to side effects. So I’m moving pretty slowly these days. Mostly keeping the fires going, and the dishes done every couple days.

On Monday we had a nor’easter roar through. When I went out to do the chores on Monday morning at 7:30AM it was 62F and raining. It stayed in the 60’s all day, dropping into the 50’s as the sun set. The rain had stopped.
I am trying to use the borrowed Canon camera, but it requires a good deal more memory on my part than I have to use. So photos aren’t clear or crisp. I get my memory card for the old camera back on Wednesday when my general helper comes.
This was after the storm had mostly past. It didn’t affect us much but Tom was flooded at his place. My mom said their brook had spread all over the pasture in SE Connecticut.
I am still receiving letters, etc. telling me whatever bridging health insurance I thought was in place, has been cancelled. But on Monday afternoon, I did find out that the plan I hope to replace the old plan with will be in force on January 1, as I had made the deadline of December 7.
So I made an appointment with my doctor to get the prior authorization sent in to re-instate my helper’s hours.
I don’t plan much to do, as I don’t know what my back will allow. Fortunately, it does allow a good night’s sleep, so that hasn’t been a problem.
But I have presents to wrap and plenty of chores and jobs needing done and mostly it’s not happening. Still haven’t done the final cleanup of November’s bills/budget. Maybe on Tuesday…
Wednesday is the Solstice and we will be in the winter season. I hope it marks a turning point in my luck…
