A friend had taken me out to run errands on Wednesday afternoon and when we got back, the wind had won on the mulch pile. Zack will be here on Thursday and once it warms up some, we will repair it.
It was forecast to drop down to 15F on Wednesday night. It was already getting pretty cold as the sun went down. I borrowed another space heater for the addition from the neighbors and used the cookstove oven to heat up the kitchen before I went to bed. The stove pipe for the masonry heater won’t be in until the end of the month. Gonna be a long 2 weeks…
The two barn kitties were all snuggled up in their hay box in the bay window when I went up to put their food away for the night. If it gets really cold, they make nests in the top of the leaf bags.
My husband was finally discharged about 1PM from Mass General Hospital and transported by ambulance back to Western Mass. He said he was never so happy as when he crossed the Connecticut River and left “Africa” behind.
Settling into the nursing home so late in the day didn’t go smoothly and it took a long time for them to sort out his meds so he could get some for the pain from the transport. But he has a room of his own right now with another empty bed in it.
I expect they will start PT on Thursday. I can’t get in to see him. They have labeled the windows so you can stand outside and see them. Many of the rooms are ground floor. I think my neighbor is bringing me to see him on Thursday after Zack leaves.
