Snow on the hemlock in the swamp
On Wednesday morning I was up at 4:45AM and got my post up. I got laundry started and got ready to go to exercise class. Then at 8:30AM I got a call from my ride, she was snowed in. So no class for us.
So I made some breakfast and started working on various chores and phone calls.
The first thing was to get the path to over the bank shoveled before the sun hit it. Then I cleared off the steps and shoveled out the 2 doors to the wood shed.
I had to rest after that because the snow was too deep there for the broom, so I had to shovel.
I got up later and got a load in the dishwasher. I started picking at the decorations boxes and getting stuff set out.
My helper friend made these several years ago when he was teaching himself to make birch bark stars for his wreath that year.
Then I went out and shoveled a path so I can fill the bird feeders this winter. This snow isn’t going to melt any time soon as the temps are to stay low and drop to 4F on Thursday night.
That was all the shoveling I could do. My son will have to deal with the rest of it.
I had gotten a few photos as the sun came up. The first snow is so pretty when it’s deep enough to cover most things. I like how it outlines the tops of branches on trees.
I always say, it’s pretty for a day, then it can all melt and spring can start, but it never happens that way…sigh…
I got some more Christmas stuff up and remembered I had an appointment in the afternoon. So I called the guy who was taking the pumpkins and we set a time for Thursday morning.
I spent the rest of the afternoon reading my Christmas book and then watching a Christmas movie.
The TV I got from my son has advertising icons across the bottom of the screen. I find them very annoying. But the controls for the TV are very tiny and sensitive and NOT made for shaky hands older folks. I spent about ½ hour in frustration trying to find a control to get rid of the icons. I’ll have to see if my son knows how.
Rosemary still doing fine
On Thursday my helper friend comes at noon and I have errands for him. Then some cleaning and maybe some cooking. I’d like to make more butternut soup for the freezer.
I’ve got to clean up the kitchen, finish feeding the house plants, and try to finish putting the decorations up. So another busy day…
