On Friday morning, I started to plan the Big garden. I discovered that they had revamped the website, so I spent most of the time trying to find all the buttons I normally used. I did manage to get the 2 rows of peas entered in.
You can see there are a lot of plants and bulbs to move into an East garden before I can plant the next area.
The next job was to find peas, as I’d not placed any orders. The farm stand where we used to go sent out a newsletter saying they had pansies and seeds. So I asked my friend Tom to take me there Friday afternoon while he waited for the girls to have their riding lesson.
I was able to find the snow peas I wanted, but they didn’t have the green peas. They also didn’t have pansies, just violas. My husband liked selecting pansies each spring because he liked their little faces. So I will wait until I can find pansies. Tom’s wife will look for the Green Arrow peas in her travels. There’s at least 3 weeks before I can plant them.
The chiondoxas I planted on Monday have all opened up in these warm temperatures we’ve had.
The white lily of the valley clumps we transplanted on Wednesday have several crocuses up in them. I must put markers on them so I don’t walk on them once they go by. There needs to be another stepping stone also.
On Saturday the wind will die down and it’s to be 60F. I’ve had 2 days of rest and will be going out to tackle the New East garden building project. Sunday is to be colder and rain, so another day off. Perhaps I will wrestle with the new garden planner and try to figure out where to plant what.
