Monday morning before 7AM I looked out and saw the full moon in the western sky. The wind had come up and the clouds were scudding around it. I grabbed the camera and lo and behold! I got a shot of the moon that looked just like it should. Miracles happen…
In the East of Steps garden, one of the first I planted, the first daffodil opened. It’s a mini daff and I’m not sure of the variety. It might be “Quail” or “February Gold” or maybe another one. Most of the other bulbs I planted in these front gardens have buds on them or are doing very well.
On Tuesday I will be out planting plants in the New East garden, along with a few bulbs in the main body of the garden. Once I get that done, I will plant the bulbs along the front edge. Most of them have gotten pretty tall now, and I am afraid of breaking them off if they were planted first.
My helper friend had offered me a mock orange cutting for this garden. I have to remember to allow about 6’ on the north end for that plant. It gets that big, he says.
