Rhubarb in the Big garden
So my helper friend was here on Tuesday and we bit the bullet and went out to tackle the Big garden.
He got a 10’ x 10’ area cleaned out. Just a 32’ x 20’ area left to do…
I got a much easier 6’ x 10’ area cleaned out in front of the gate.
Then I settled in to clear 12’ of the fence line of the broken rotten chicken wire, to the gate. I’ve now gotten it half done, 30’. Just 30’ more to go…
I cleaned off and prepped the next 10’ section. It’s to rain then be cold and windy through Saturday, so it will be Sunday before I can start again.
I found buds on the lungwort in the Big garden.
It took me 3 tries over a week’s time but I finally got this photo of the small quince’s buds in the Big garden. The bigger quince in there is looking rather poorly.
Our son continued the pressure washing, this time on the wood/garden shed.
My husband spent the day putting a new hydraulic pump in the tractor only to discover that wasn’t the problem. It was the teeth ground off the pulley that also drives the fan. So he cleaned out the east end of the barn and put the tractor in there. He hopes to get a new wiring harness installed and while the tractor is torn apart, do something about the pulley. He’ll have lots of rainy days to do this over the next week.
