My brother had brought me holly and boxwood over the weekend. I had been too busy or exhausted to do anything with it. Arissa and I had just over an hour extra before our ride to see my husband arrived. So we decided to try to do something with the greenery.
We pulled all the boxes of decorating materials out of the attic. I found an old arch form I’d not used for many years and we decided to put the boxwood on that and hang it in the roundtop window. Because it would be in the south facing window, we didn’t use the holly as the sun would have dried it up really fast.
All the windows in the addition are really dirty still. I could not stand to put our creation into such a filthy window, so I washed the inside of it.
The arch is a combination of natural materials (3 types of pine cones, boxwood) and artificial (the ring with berries). It’s a bit early to be putting Christmas up but it was fun to do and I didn’t want the things my brother had brought to go to waste.
Friday I don’t have people here after 11AM so I may make some more decorations and put them up.
