On Monday morning Larry woke me at 4AM because it sounded like he knocked something over. I was glad because I had a lot to do before we left at 7:15 for the shelter and the dental appointment. (I never found what fell…)
It was to be another beautiful summer day with lower humidity. I got the laundry started, my post written, kitchen cleaned up, and chores done. Larry had finished all his food in the night and wanted breakfast, which I couldn’t give him.
The drive down was fast and we had 15 minutes to wait until we could drop him off. Going back home was just as fast, about 25 minutes.
I got the laundry changed over and it was 9AM. It was to get hot and I decided going out at 9AM in the sun probably wasn’t too smart. So basically I really did nothing but laundry all day.
My neighbor picked me up at 3:15 and we headed back down. We hit a traffic jam just as we entered the city and the whole drive one way was 1 hour, 13 minutes and we were pretty late. We’d called ahead to let them know.
Larry had had no issues, apparently all had gone well. He was really groggy from the anesthesia. But I was allowed to adopt him, courtesy of my neighbor’s cell phone, as I don’t have one.
The drive home was pretty quick, taking about ½ hour. I built a barricade in the archway to the clean room to keep him off the stairs to the second floor. He could get to his catbox and roam the addition.
He ate 2 cans of cat food (and part of a third in the night) so I guess his appetite is back. He spent the evening with me, being patted while I watched a video.
He didn’t seem as traumatized by this trip as I expected.
On Tuesday I plan to get out to the Big garden around 6AM and get started on the garlic area. My helper will be here at 9:30 and he can help me move the hay to this area and get the foliar spraying done.
