On Thursday morning the forecast was for snow to start at 9AM. It was pretty gloomy but 40F outside so I didn’t think we’d get anything but rain.
Tom messaged me just before 9AM and it had started at his house, west of me by 20 minutes. So I turned my head to look out the office door…
And said, “Not here yet.” Then I turned my head and looked out the window towards the road and I could easily see it coming down. I looked back out the door, nothing. Very weird.
I tried to get a photo but the camera couldn’t.
The white oak has lost nearly all its leaves. That means as soon as I am better I can do a final mowing and take the tarps off the Small garden.
I went to the living room and spent the morning dozing in front of a video.
Between 11AM and noon it was really coming down.
It tapered off after that with no accumulation at all.
I spent the afternoon in my chair with visits from Larry. He’s such a handsome boy.
My general helper said she would be out to finish the 2nd section with mulch in the Big garden. But before she got here I saw the forecast was for 25F on Thursday night. So I asked her to find a tarp and cover the cabbages. They are ok to 28F I’ve read.
She got that done first, then started on the Big garden.
She just finished the mulching when the rain started. So the 2nd section is finished.
Tom had done some shopping for me and he arrived after 6PM. He’d found tofu spaghetti noodles and tapioca. I put the noodles in the chicken stock, and with the tapioca and the Throat Coat tea, I was finally able to eat a small meal without side effects.
I had kept both stoves going all day. It’s amazing how much difference those storm windows make. There are none yet on the first floor and it gets cold fast.
Thursday is to be cold and sunny so I won’t need stoves until the afternoon. Hopefully my son can get the hoses drained and coiled and put away before he goes to work.
I seriously need to do dishes, laundry, and get a shower. But all those require standing and yesterday I only got 5 minutes before getting dizzy. Hopefully I can eat breakfast and maybe I won’t be so dizzy.
