Red sky at morning
On Wednesday morning I was up at 5:30AM, got my post up, got a shower and the cat fed, and had started to fold clothes when my new helper arrived at 8AM. He was a bit early because he lives here in town.
So I gave him the house tour in hopes he’d remember something of where things were and we got started on the clean room. We worked steadily until 10:30AM and had everything done except the floor and fridge.
We decided to tackle the freezer and see if we had time for the fridge section after. We easily finished that and then moved onto the fridge. After removing my son’s “science experiments” and all the sauerkraut, we managed to get the shelves out without having to move the fridge.
I washed those up while he cleaned the inside and the gaskets. He also got the outside all washed up. We loaded it back up. I had checked the door shelves to make sure they were in place first. But when we closed the door, the 2 bottom ones fell. Nothing broke, and we put them back on properly. Then the door wouldn’t close and we had to fool with the bottom shelf to get it to stay in place. But in the end it was done and before he had to go.
The only thing left was cleaning the floor, but I was too tired to tackle that.
There’s a lot more room in the clean room now as things that belonged somewhere else were put away. Maybe now it’s clean and neat, I will finish the floor (if my knee will let me) and make the curtain for under the sink. We’ll see…
My general helper came back mid morning and she finished the fairy’s bath. She looks wonderful now and I moved her to the clean room sink to dry, as she had gotten water inside.
Larry, the birthday boy, was delighted with his duck breakfast as I gave him 2 of the small cans. He slept it off all morning up in the spare room and came down just as my helper was leaving.
I gave him 1 can of rabbit for supper and he said there should have been 2. But he only ever gets 1 can at night, so I told him to suck it up.
I was so tired and sore from the morning’s work I tried to lay down for a nap but couldn’t sleep. I tried to read but that didn’t hold my attention either. So I ended up in my chair being a vegetable watching TikToks.
It started raining late afternoon so I expect there won’t be much snow left by morning. I got the stoves going and shades pulled and went to bed for 8:30PM.
On Thursday no one is coming and I go back to the doctor about the knee. I hope to get at least 2 gardens planned during the day, but we will see…
