It started snowing around 9AM on Monday and soon there were lots of big snowflakes. During the night there had been snow but it was too warm and there was slushy snow everywhere.
When I had gone out to do chores at 7:30 I had swept the slush off the steps and walkways. By 12:30 they were all covered again in slushy snow. I swept them again around 1PM as I had to go out for an appointment. Experience has taught me to not walk on slush/snow on steps and walks as it hardens on quickly.
When I got back around 4PM the big flakes had turned to fine snow and was ending. The walks were again covered in the slushy stuff, so I swept one more time before night fell and things froze.
There wasn’t enough snow on the pastures to cover the grass. But everything was white again, a contrast to yesterday’s post before the storm. It won’t last as rain is forecast in the next couple days. Such an odd winter here this year…
