Thursday I got the dehydrators emptied, filling the ½ gallon jar with basil for the layers and getting enough good leaves for a year for my use. I again woke to another day of not doing well, asleep in my chair at 8AM when my helper arrived. I got her started cleaning bathrooms and the upstairs hall.
I had to stop caffeine use back when I had a UTI flare, well over a month ago. But the last 2 days I’ve resorted to a cup of tea to get me sort of moving. So a cup of tea and a shower later, I finally got going around 10AM.
I decided I’d start organizing the clean room. The first thing I had to do was put down the shelf paper. I got these shelves done and the big one under the sink.
When my helper finished her assigned chores she helped me in the clean room and laundry room, sorting and hanging stuff up.
My son was here and tried to weedwack but the string pull on it broke. So I set him to pruning back the forsythia and lilacs. Now I can mow on Saturday without getting tangled in them.
We had a lovely cool sunny day and when I checked the cut grass in the tent area, it was dry enough to bag up with the mower. It took me 2 hours to get it cleaned up. There’s now a huge pile of grass in the Small garden I plan to use for mulch.
On Friday, Chaos Central returns. The carpenter will be first, doing his thing. My son is here and he will be tackling more pruning. Hopefully my outside helpers will be here with their weedwacker and one will get the driveway to the barn and around the barn done. The other I hope to use to pull the dead pumpkin vines out of the Big garden and clean it up. My son says he will get 2 friends to come out and if they do, I hope they can do some simple garden clean up. My cleaning helper returns and tackles cleaning and washing both stairwells (thanks to the old cat) and some vacuuming. My helper friend will be here and be doing the foliar feeding and milk spray.
If I am not dead from all of this I should do some yard mowing in the afternoon, or at least mow up at the barn.
The rental company called on Thursday and offered us a bigger tent at no charge. We now have a 20’ x 40’ tent. I also got more tables and chairs to go in it. Fortunately when Tom mowed, he made a huge area! The tent goes up sometime on Saturday.
Hope I survive this….
