Big garden at dawn
After a very poor night’s sleep, I was up just before 6AM, got the house closed up and the cat fed and headed out to pick all the peas. It was a nice cool morning, but would not stay like that for long.
I went down both sides of the row and a half of sugar peas and this was all there was. They are done for the year, I guess.
Then I did the same with the row and a half of green peas. I nearly filled the bowl.
This is the green pea row after picking. There are still lots to come along.
I got them inside where it was cool and went right out to get the yard mowing done before it got really hot.
It took me 2½ hours to do the yard. Next week I’ll have to do at the barn too. I came in and got a shower and rested for an hour.
Then I got set up with a series “800 Words” and started shelling peas.
It took a couple hours to shell that great big bowl. I got them processed and ended up with 4 pints. I’ve done really well this year with the green peas.
It was mid afternoon by the time I finished and I watched videos until it cooled down enough to go to bed at 9:30PM.
On Monday I plan to stay inside and do laundry, clean up the kitchen, and work on the bills/budget. In the afternoon I have an event at the Senior center. It’s to be wicked hot so I’ll have the little AC in the office going.
