On Monday, I helped the carpenter with the tile, then started taking decorations down. My cleaning helper came and tackled the trashed floors throughout the house. I plan to leave the trees up a little longer, just got the decorations put away.
We had snow squalls off and on until afternoon, got maybe another inch of snow. It started to get really cold in the afternoon. I started the masonry heater about 2:45 so it would be hot enough to cook pizzas by 6PM.
I got everything ready and waited for Tom and family to arrive. He’d picked up the dough and toppings. I had the sauce and a few toppings. Then I proceeded to forget to take any photos.
We got the toppings prepped and the rest of the family arrived. Everyone created their own pizza. I now have 5 cookie sheets for making pizzas on, just short 1 or 2 more. They started a game of Chinese checkers while waiting for each pizza to cook.
Once the pizzas were nearly all done, they started a game called Do You Remember? That was fun sharing stories triggered by each question. But all too soon, my intern and her sister had to leave for another activity and so we cleaned up the food and left the mess. That’s all I got a photo of.
On Tuesday I help the carpenter install the small bookcase and move the big one to the workshop. He’s also planning to bring in the sheet of plywood for the back of the big bookcase, and I’ll probably help with that. I’ll have to trash the living room in order to get the bookcase into the far corner.
Once the bookcase is in place, I will probably have to move everything and clean out the opposite corner for the other bookcase. That ought to keep me out of trouble.
We are supposed to have a sunny day, so I hope I won’t have to keep stoves going too much all day. I’ll have to start them early in the afternoon as it’s to drop to 0F or below tonight.
