Copper before
On Thursday I spent most of the morning cleaning up the kitchen. I got my post up and a shower. I got the thermometer that was not repairable packed up and when my helper friend arrived at noon, he took it to be shipped back.
I got the dehydrator trays washed up and drying while he was gone. Then I set up to slice more Walla onions to go into both dehydrators. That would be his job for the day.
My job was to polish up the copper things for the office. It would bring us 1 step closer to finishing the spring cleaning in the office.
So he got started on the onions when he got back.
And I got started on the copper polishing. I did the plate and candlesticks first. Then I took the lamp all apart and polished all the pieces. That took me all afternoon, until 4:30PM. They hadn’t been done in years.
There were a few paprikas he got in first then filled both dehydrators with the Walla onions.
Early afternoon my son went out and finished filling the holes and spread the mulch. It needs some touching up but is mostly done.
The last thing my helper friend and I did was harvest more Juneberries. There’s still a lot to ripen yet.
I am way behind in looking through the catalogs that came in this year. I found this one in the pile and hadn’t seen this company before. They are out of Maine and are all women owed. , they have the most wondrous collection of old flowers! I will be ordering from them for next year.
I was so tired, even though I’d been sitting all afternoon. But I ended up binge watching Big Bang Theory until 10PM.
On Friday my helper friend will be here in the morning. I have to empty both dehydrators and wash the trays and screens. My #3 intern is coming to move wood in the morning and finish the walkway in the New Herb garden. In the afternoon my friend and I are going to see the Downton movie. Another beautiful day and again I won’t be outside…
