On Saturday my sole job was to empty the trash shed so my brother could take it to the dump. I was moving extremely slowly, as it took about 4 hours to get my 2 posts up. So I never got started until 11AM. I got this far by noon.
I still had all these to breakdown but it didn’t happen until I had an hour’s rest. I finally got it all done by 1:30PM and brought the truck around to the front of the house.
My brother got home about 2:45PM and the dump closed at 3PM. But when he got there they told him they really close at 2:45PM, not 3PM as it says on every sticker for the bags. So he got rid of the trash, but the recycle bins were closed so he came home with that and put it back in the shed for next Saturday, if they are open after the holiday.. Small town business… sigh
Now that the garlic is done and I have received my first seed catalog for next year, the 2024 season has officially started. Some time before Christmas I have to get the gardens laid out on paper and make all my seed orders. If I wait, I risk not getting the seeds I want.
Oh, and I forgot to mention it but I started listening to Christmas music last week and on Saturday I sat and watched 2 Christmas movies all afternoon. I hope to get candles in the windows by Wednesday, so my mom can see them when she arrives Wednesday night. I’d hoped to have the tree up, but 2 weeks of Covid has set me back.
On Sunday I am going to try to restore the house to rights. It’s a huge mess. My brother and I are planning shepherd’s pie for supper so I also have to clean up the kitchen.
