Friday my helper friend showed up at 8AM. He did some chores while I got started on the bubble lights for the tree. I got a call from an agency that might help with helper hours and was set up for an interview next Wednesday.
About half an hour later his phone rings. His company had found out I’d lost my insurance and called him off the job. I have no idea if I will be able to get him again when or if my insurance restarts. He needs full time hours to retain his own insurance.
I was supposed to have 12 hours of help each week since January. I finally got the 12 hours after he and I had covid and that was just 3 weeks ago. Now the hours are completely gone.
And it could easily be the end of January before I know what will happen with my helper hours.
I tried to keep working on the tree, but I was just too sad. Eventually in the afternoon, I got the bubble lights on and then I cleaned up the associated boxes so the living room isn’t quite as bad.
I also got 1 pomander made. The other orange had gone bad. I just read and talked to my sister for the rest of the day.
I messaged my general helper to let her know there would be extra hours if she wanted them over school break. She will let me know what might work for her. I pay her so it will make things tight.
When my brother got home we made tomato soup and toasted cheese sandwiches for supper.
On Saturday I intend to finally finish the bills/budget and maybe get some garlands on the tree. We’ll see…
