Sunrise facing south
There are few times when the camera and I surprise ourselves. I was able to capture the sunrise on Thursday, complete with the real colors. But when I see a brilliant sunrise like this the old ditty, “Red sky at morning, sailor take warning”, runs through my head.

On Thursday I got the chores done, the stoves going, and a load of dishes going. Then I settled into paying bills/budget. I was determined to finish.

But at 9AM I had to call the pharmacy to see why my prescription hadn’t been filled. That’s when things fell apart.
I was told that it wasn’t filled because my account was “inactive”. So I made a second call to the provider and left a message. She called back and said she didn’t know why but the account was marked “inactive”. She would contact a person in Eligibility and they would call me.
In the mean time I decided to call MassHealth to see what they wouldn’t/couldn’t tell me. All I got was my end date for my insurance, get this, is 2299. Yup, 276 years from now. And my call waiting had beeped me twice. It was the provider calling back.
It seems if I have MassHealth CommonHealth because of my disability, I cannot be on the other provider. They had known this since September. I’d received no notification of this. I’d used the services on November 29, 2023 with no problem. But on November 30th they cut me off.
He also said I had been cut off multiple times by MassHealth since 2020 and later re-instated, all without my knowledge. I had no choice but to sign up for another health coverage plan. And it was the very last day to do so… (Sailor take warning…)
Well, it seems the provider also has a PPO plan. I knew absolutely nothing about any of this insurance stuff, and I had no time at all to research options. So I spent the rest of the morning being informed about these plans by a very kind woman. Then I was signed up for the plan.
But it doesn’t start until January 1, 2024, if I am lucky. It might be a couple weeks after that…
The provider eligibility guy had given me the info about a prescription plan that bridges these situations. So that was the next call. That one was quick and easy.
But I will most likely lose my helper for part of December. I can’t do anything about retaining him until the PPO program begins. Then my doctor must send in a prior authorization request detailing why I need my hours of help each week.
So I probably won’t have him most of January also. (Sailor take warning…)
My helper friend arrived at 11:30AM and we got some chores done and fed the house plants. He plans to keep arriving until his company doesn’t schedule him.
I was totally wrung out after all this and got nothing else done all day.
On Friday he is supposed to be here at 8AM for a few hours and again in the afternoon. We plan to try to hang bird feeders in the afternoon, as it will be slightly warmer. I hope to get the bubble lights on the tree and some boxes upstairs in the morning.
We will see (Sailor take warning…)
