Wednesday morning I was up just after 5AM and immediately got the laundry started. The clothes I needed for exercise class had to get washed and dried before I left at 9AM.
It was bitter cold and the next thing I did was stoke the stoves.
At -1F the house was between 65F – 70F and that’s just too cold for me. (I know the thermometer says it’s 51F but there’s a reason it’s called “the liar”.) The -1F was verified by the weather report. I finally got to get my post written, the cat fed, and a load of dishes in the dishwasher.
Bitter cold morning, fog rising from the river 2 miles away
I sat down to go through one of my favorite catalogs, Strictly Medicinal, looking for herb seeds. When I checked the clock it was 8:20AM!! I had to pull up shades, change over laundry again, get a shower, and the doctor’s office calls. Sigh… I was also going to have to go in for blood tests, if I could find a ride.
So I’m racing around trying to get it all done before my neighbor arrives at 9AM. I was just a minute or 2 late. When we get to the Senior center I go to inquire about a ride and I will have to leave class half way through for my ride.
Snow frozen halfway off the roof
I got home by 11AM and got the laundry changed over, made some lunch and sat down to work on seed orders. I worked until 3PM on them, getting them all compiled. I was too tired to do more so on Thursday I will have to go online and see if everything is available and place the orders.

I lay down on the couch to watch 800 Words and fell asleep. I woke about 5PM, got the stoves going, and made supper. More of the series and I was in bed at 8:15PM. I’d gotten all the laundry washed and dried and the kitchen cleaned up at different points during the day.
I have an estate planning appointment in the morning and hope to get my orders finish around that. I have a new helper, #4, coming at 1:30PM until 5:30PM. That’s awful late for me but oh, well. I’m hoping she can carry boxes downstairs so we can start taking the Christmas tree down. It’s to hit low 40’s and then start dropping as that big storm moves in over the weekend.
So another busy day…
