On Thursday morning I was up just before 6AM, got the fires going and fed the cat. I got my post up and then cleaned up the kitchen. Once the shades were up, I got started on sending seed orders in.
I got 1½ of them done before my estate appointment. It seems there’s a lot of help out there for people like me and I should be able to complete this extensive task in the future. But it will be a LONG process.
Once that was done, I resumed work on the orders and finished them at 12:10PM, just in time for a shower before my new helper #4 arrived. I got done, sat down, and no helper. Then I remembered, she wasn’t coming until 1:30PM. So I rested a while.
I got up and got the Christmas linens ironed and then she arrived. She got all the boxes down from the second floor.
Then we started taking ornaments off the tree. She was a quick study and was able to sort them really well for easier packing away. So I did most of the packing until they were all off the tree, then she started helping with that.
Once that was mostly done, she started taking off garlands and bubble lights. She neatly put the lights in order along the edges of things in the living room. I will go through each string over the weekend to make sure each light is good before carefully packing them away.
I went upstairs to get the tree bags and she brought down the lights boxes. The 2 of us worked at unloading lights from each level of branches, then tying them up out of the way of the next level. We got 3 tree sections done and bagged before it was time for her to go.
I cleaned up some of the mess, got fires started, ate supper, watched some 800 Words and headed to bed at 8PM. While watched the series, I got the tree skirt washed and dried and put in its box. I was sooo exhausted!
On Friday I have exercise class and around that I hope to get the kitchen cleaned up and start putting away the decorations still out in the office so those boxes can go upstairs.
My #3 helper arrives at 12:30PM and I hope to finish the tree and get it up into the attic. I’ll need to pull together a list of things to do if we finish the decorations and the tree. OH! I remember, we have to empty, move, and refill the china cabinet. That ought to do it. Certainly will finish me off….
It’s to get colder and colder as the storm approaches and we will be going through some wood for the next 10 day as the cold is to hang on all that time. But we will be in February by then and if we are lucky, we will have half our wood on February 2nd.
So another busy day…
