Critter tracks behind the house
On Friday morning I was up at 6AM and once the dying cat was fed, I tended the stoves and got started on my post. I stopped at 7:30AM to get the shades up and get ready for exercise class, then spent 20 more minutes on it before my neighbor arrived.
Once back home I got the post up and had some lunch and rested until my #3 helper arrived at 12:30PM. The project of the day was shredding recycled mail, etc.
We used a milk crate and she loaded it 3 times before the box was able to be moved. As we reached the bottom of the box, she found my garden notes from last year. As these had to be transcribed before March 1, that meant there was a whole year of crap crammed into the cubby hole under the desk.
We had a great time exchanging stories as we sorted and shredded. We finished it and dragged the bags out to the shed. Two of them tore open and we had to clean up that mess.
But we got all 9 bags into the trash shed.
It’s been so cold my son has been getting rides from co-workers but his ride for Friday arrived too early and he didn’t have time to get all the wood in before he left.
So my #3 helper and I managed to get 4 small loads of small stuff into the house. I thought it would hold me over the weekend.
When she left, I vacuumed up the mess and got the shredder head cleaned up and put away. My brother arrived home just about then and I asked him to bring me to the library to pick up 2 movies to watch while it storms.
I’d ordered supper and it was delivered soon after we got back and I sat down to watch more Doc Martin. I went to bed at 8PM as I was pretty exhausted.
On Saturday I plan to start transcribing the plant notes as I’ve only got 3 weeks left to get them done. It’s to snow all day and get very cold, so I’ll also be loading stoves every 1½ hours until the cold is gone on Tuesday or Wednesday.
