This little guy and 3 more of his buddies were why my parsley was so bug eaten on Thursday. It’s a swallowtail caterpillar and I also find them on the volunteer dill.
I needed an in the house job that kept me stationary due to the smoke from western US fires. So loading both dehydrators with parsley and the 2 red peppers was it.
My helper friend was here and he got the foliar spraying done. He said the smoke didn’t bother him.
No work on the addition as the cumulative effect of moving flooring and putting up ceiling sheetrock took him out of action for the day.
The little girls aka pullets are really going to town laying so early. We got 4 last night and they just started a week ago. One that came in on Wednesday night weighed almost as much as a large egg.
There’s 2 more weeks before we send off all the layers, so maybe we will be getting enough eggs to keep us going….
Friday I’m not sure if I’m going to chance going outside. The haze has decreased and there’s a cold front that will push the smoke away coming in. I hope I can get outside as my helper friend will be here and we can get the pea fence down and put away at least. I’d like to get more weeding done in the Big garden.
